Fungin™ is suitable for research purposes only. It must not be used on humans.

Fungin is a soluble form of pimaricin, a tetraene antifungal antibiotic produced from a Streptomyces natalensis strain. Extensive R&D efforts have lead to a proprietary process to make pimaricin totally soluble in water (i.e. suitable for cell-culture usage).

CHEMICAL PROPERTIES :

Molecule name: Pimaricin

Formula : C33H47NO13

Molecular weight: 665.74

CAS: 7681-93-8

Solubility: Freely soluble in water
(no need for toxic deoxycholate to make it soluble)

UV max: 220, 280, 290, 303, 318nm

CONDITIONING :

Fungin is provided as a light-yellow aqueous solution (pH 7.5), filtered to sterility, and validated for cell-culture usage. Fungin is a new soluble formulation of Pimaricin.

STABILITY :

Fungin is stable one month at 37°C, 3 months at room temperature, and 24 months at 0°C or –20°C.

Fungin is more stable than amphotericin B.
